The presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) through the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto wishes to invite all our fellow Filipinos in Canada to watch the live-streaming of Bayanihan ng Bayan: Anong Taya mo Para sa Bayan events from 24 to 28 January 2012 over the website www.ptv.ph.

The Bayanihan ng Bayan: Anong Taya Mo Para sa Bayan events were organized by PCCO in partnership with the EDSA Peopple Power Commission (EPPC) as the Philippine governments collective response to the needs of our fellow Filipinos in Northern Mindanao who suffered the damages caused by the tropical storm ‘Sendong” which hit the provinces of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Dumaguete on 17 December 2011.

A total of 117,665 families have been severely affected in 57 towns and 8 cities in 13 provinces. In the spirit of bayanihan, various government agencies have also pledged to take part in this endeavor to address the needs of our kababayans affected by “Sendong” .. The government aims to gather communities all over the country to rebuild the devastated areas of Northern Mindanao through initiatives such as, clean up and build, and other activities participated by volunteers to the five-day event.

President Benigno S. Aguino III will grace the event by participating in the activities, highlighted by the Presidential Lunch and Caucus with Local Government Unit heads on 25 January 2012.

The Filipino community is enjoined to tune in to the broadcast of the above event via live-streaming over www.ptv.ph on 24-28 January 2012. May we uplift our fellow citizens in Northern Mindanao in the spirit of genuine People Power.
